Influencing propensity to give is critical if you want to increase donations. The science shows that infographics and statistics are not very effective in moving the needle. However, individually relevant impact stories delivered with the Mythos software will move the needle.

What does oxytocin have to do with impact stories? Research conducted by renowned neuroeconomist, Paul J. Zak, showed that oxytocin, sometimes called the “love hormone”, and cortisol, a hormone released during times of stress, increase the propensity for people to be generous.
The Mythos team has been busy working to create new features. You can now edit the response title when converting a response to a story and add “placeholder text” to any question on a survey. We also move the “Help & Support” link to the main navigation to make it easier to find.

One of the primary goals of Mythos is to make it easier for you to gather as many impact stories as possible. The idea being that the more stories you have, the more likely it is that you’ll have a story to tell to an existing or a prospective donor. These are the ways Mythos helps you do just that.
Recently, our CEO and chief optimist, Jon Budington, was preparing for a trip to New York. When he checked the weather, to know what to pack, he was presented with an infographic that…wasn’t very helpful. So he turned it into a narrative that was.

Since we first released Mythos, there has always been a powerful search with the ability to search by tag, profile field, and/or status. But to perform searches on any of those attributes, you had to use operators. Now you can do advanced searching of both stories and responses with “point-and-click” ease!
